The strategic plan and urban design guidelines sought to enhance the existing attributes of the Mt. Lebanon community. Most notably, these included the town-like suburban atmosphere and the family oriented outlook. Focus centered on the primary commercial core with six zones identified for redevelopment. Planning highlighted: appropriate and attainable uses, increase in value and a stimulated reinvestment around them and an enrichment of the image of Mt. Lebanon's main street. This culminated in a strategic urban design and economic development plan, which inspires and facilitates the next generation of public and private downtown investment.
