Dallas Downtown Parks
Dallas, Texas

Chan Krieger Sieniewicz worked in conjunction with Hargreaves Associates of San Francisco and Carter Burgess of Dallas on the development of an open space master plan that identifies major new open spaces in downtown Dallas and corresponding development around those open spaces.

The master plan proposes three different sites of two to three acres each, with each space programmed differently based upon localized site conditions. By strategically dispersing three parks downtown and linking them with modest streetscape improvements, in lieu of a single eight to ten acre park, the overall pedestrian experience can be maximized and significantly increase development opportunities across a wider area. The enhanced pedestrian network connects to the existing underground tunnel system and is coordinated with an ongoing transportation plan for both cars and light-rail.
