Canal Street
New Orleans, Louisiana

Chan Krieger Sieniewicz and Development Strategies of St. Louis produced a comprehensive development strategy and implementation plan for the Canal Street corridor in New Orleans, Louisiana. Part of the Downtown Development District, the study area comprises nearly a mile of this grand historic boulevard, from its terminus at the Mississippi River to the New Orleans Regional Medical Center. The study is focused on a vision for the street including a $20 million public investment in new sidewalks, lighting, and street trees. The study identifies housing and entertainment opportunities that will strengthen the overall downtown as well as the French Quarter.
