Faces and Places
Boston Public Library
October 2003 - October 2004

Inaugural exhibit of the newly-created Norman B. Leventhal Map Center at the Boston Public Library. This map exhibit details Boston’s history, and focuses on the many cultures that shaped and now define the City of Boston.

The exhibit focuses on the countries that the most numbers of Bostonians originate: Cape Verde, China, the Dominican Republic, England, Haiti, Ireland, Italy and Jamaica.

Featuring rare maps from the different countries, the exhibit also includes an essay written by a local child about the journey that their family took to arrive in Boston.
