The goals of this campus plan include: fostering academic and research excellence, recruiting and retaining students, renewing critical building systems and infrastructure, rationalizing pedestrian and vehicular circulation, enhancing the sense of place, and defining external and community relationships. The twelve-month master plan, which began in June 2000, was for a 53-year-old university comprised of approximately 2.4 million square feet of space.
