This state-of-the-art facility functions as an indoor training facility for the lacrosse, soccer and baseball teams while serving as a recreational center for the greater University community. The building was carefully sited within an existing slope to minimize the perceived scale of the exterior and to take advantage of the energy efficiencies associated with retained earth structures. The change in grade also enables natural light and direct access to the lower level locker rooms from the field level. In addition, this siting strategy created an upper level outdoor terrace overlooking the new field surfaces.
